If there was ever a time to unleash a fountain of sparkles at your event, Christmas is surely it. And because most winter events, by necessity, need to be indoors, you need to sparkle in safety which means using a cold spark machine, more commonly known as a Sparkular. Unlike traditional pyrotechnics, the Sparkular produces cold sparks, making it ideal for indoor events, and enabling you to position the special effects closer to the action for a bigger impact.

Advantages of Sparkular machines

The Sparkular’s principle advantage is its safety. The granulate material used in the effect is a powder made of titanium and zirconium, which is heated in order to create the sparks. However, the sparks produced are cooled very quickly before being released which means they’re non flammable as well as colder and therefore a lot safer than traditional pyrotechnics (which can reach a working temperature of 1,200oF/650oC).

One sachet of powder can produce sparks for up to 15 minutes, and as soon as it has been used up, you can refill the machine and you’re ready to go again.

Another reason for the safety of the Sparkular cold spark machine is that it is fully controllable and can be stopped at any time; on the other hand, pyrotechnics cannot be stopped and must run their course. Pyrotechnics can only be used once, whereas a Sparkular machine can be refilled and used as many times as you want.

Another advantage Sparkular technology has over a traditional pyrotechnic fountain is that it produces 80% less smoke and is odourless, keeping the air clean enough for indoor use.

Razzle dazzle them!

If you’re running a Christmas or New Year’s Eve event, putting on a panto, or hosting an awards ceremony, why wouldn’t you want to add additional sparkle? And there’s an impressive range of Sparkular machines to produce almost any effect you need.

If you’re running a big sporting event or a concert, the Sparkular Jet can throw sparks up to 10m high – the perfect way to hype a performance or add excitement to a grand entrance. If you want to encourage a crowd to call for an encore, use the Sparkular Fall to end the penultimate song with a shimmering backdrop of falling sparks. To up the excitement in a more choreographed way, use the Sparkular Triple to create angled jets that cover the backdrop in spectacular style.

Get your audience closer to the action

Because the cold spark machine is so safe, Showven has developed a handheld Sparkular machine to deliver sparks wherever you need them. The new Sparkular Blaster isn’t attached by a cable, giving you the freedom to use it wherever you like; so as soon as it’s charged, you’re ready to go. All you have to do is make sure you have a safety space which is a minimum of one metre – apart from that you can have sparks wherever you have an operator, and the length of the jet is fully adjustable. Perfect for impromptu blasts of sparkle from an artist or performer.

Keeping you in control

If you would like us to manage the special effects for your event, contact us to discuss it further. If you have the in-house expertise to handle your own effect, talk to us about dry hire.

The Sparkular Controller is fully programmable allowing you to take control of the timing, height of the jets, as well as coordinate it with music. It will allow you to operate up to 18 Sparkular units at any one time. That’s a lot of sparkle!
