SELHURST PARK

The Home of Crystal Palace

Selhurst Park has been home to Crystal Palace since 1924, sitting among the streets of South London for more than a century. Its four stands have the feel of a traditional English football ground, with supporters close to the pitch and the Holmesdale Road Stand providing the backdrop to some of the stadium’s loudest and most colourful matchdays.

For much of its history, Selhurst Park was a ground waiting for its first major trophy celebration. That changed dramatically in 2025, beginning a remarkable new chapter for both Crystal Palace and their century-old home.

More Than 100 Years in South London

Crystal Palace moved into Selhurst Park in August 1924, beginning a relationship with the ground that has now passed its centenary. Part of its character comes from where it sits. Selhurst Park is surrounded by the streets and homes of South London rather than separated from them, with matchdays bringing supporters through the surrounding neighbourhood on their way to the ground.

Inside, four distinct stands surround the pitch. The Holmesdale Road Stand has become particularly associated with Palace’s vocal support, flags and displays, while the traditional layout keeps supporters close to the football. In the summer of 2026 another significant change has just begun; plans to redevelop the Main Stand will increase capacity to over 34,000 and transform one side of Selhurst Park, adding a major new chapter to a ground that has continued to evolve throughout its history.

A New Chapter at Selhurst Park

The 2025 FA Cup Final changed Crystal Palace history. Victory over Manchester City at Wembley gave the club its first major trophy and brought an entirely new kind of celebration back to South London. An open-top bus carried the players and FA Cup through the streets around Selhurst Park before arriving at the stadium, where supporters gathered for a Party on the Pitch with live entertainment, special guests and the trophy presentation.

That success also opened the door to European football at Selhurst Park. Palace played their first major European home fixture at the stadium in 2025 and went on to reach the UEFA Conference League final the following May. They won that too, adding a first European trophy to the FA Cup and turning an extraordinary period into the most successful chapter in the club’s history.

Big Nights in SE25

The recent success has changed the kind of occasions Selhurst Park is now being asked to host. Premier League football remains at its heart, but FA Cup celebrations and European nights have added new moments to the calendar. The same stands known for Palace’s matchday support have become the setting for pre-match productions, historic European fixtures and major celebrations after the football itself.

The FA Cup Party on the Pitch showed another side of the stadium altogether. Once the parade reached Selhurst Park, the pitch became the centre of a club-wide celebration, with supporters filling the ground to welcome the team and trophy home. For special effects, those occasions can call for very different approaches, from adding to the build-up before a home fixture to creating a larger visual production around a trophy celebration.
