THE BRIEF

As you may already know, we’ve worked with Saracens for a number of years. Once a year they put on a big show for a key fixture called Showdown, which has been hosted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in recent years. After a hugely successful Showdown 5, we were asked to come up with a new, creative show that pushed the boundaries of on-field pyrotechnic displays.

THE CHALLENGE

The day itself hosted two rugby fixtures, along with live entertainment from rapper Dizzee Rascal. Saracens Women kicked the day of vs Sale Sharks Women followed by a half time show and concluded with Saracens Men vs Northampton Saints Men. We had to figure out a way of incorporating a wide variety of effects into a full day event incorporating sports, live music and a huge party!

THE SOLUTION

We designed our offering to build excitement throughout the day, culminating in an evening climax as the sun was setting. From the tunnel to the pitch we made use of 15m + 5-Finger Flames, Pitch Pyro, Smoke Jets and Sparkular Cyclones. We separated the day into different “shows” where equipment was used across a variety of positions throughout the day.

THE RESULT

Everyone loved the show, take a look at the video on the right hand side to enjoy it from Phil’s point of view!
