Confetti has been an integral part of celebrations for thousands of years. It dates way back to ancient Greece where it was a custom to throw leaves, branches, or flowers at people as a way of celebrating victories and honouring them – soldiers, athletes, newly married couples. They even threw confetti at funeral processions to honour the dead.

While we commonly throw confetti to mark wedding celebrations, we also use it for large indoor and outdoor events such as festivals, concerts, music videos, trophy presentations, theatrical performances, and sporting events. Having lots of colourful confetti float down over a crowd is a wonderful thing. It adds joy and excitement, hyping the atmosphere a few notches to make a big impact that people will love.

In fact, the more confetti, the greater the impact, and that’s where professional confetti machine hire can be one of the best crowd-pleasing decisions you’ve ever made.

Spreading the joy

Whatever your event and whatever the size of the venue, there is a confetti machine that will add a crowd-pleasing element. The right combination of stadium blasters and stadium blowers could fill an arena with floating confetti.

For example the Super Blaster XL can fling confetti up to 25 metres, and if you have a technician available to keep filling the hopper, you could have a continuous stream of confetti for as long as you need it. It can be used as effectively outdoors as well as indoors, so whether the winning team is lifting the trophy or the crowd is dancing to their favourite song, you can elevate the event with confetti machine hire.

If you’re organising an outdoor festival and are concerned about the effects of confetti on the countryside, rest assured that our paper confetti is biodegradable.

If 25 metres doesn’t sound long enough, the Stadium Shot III can blast confetti out as far as 40 metres, and streamers as far as 35 metres. We used this capacity to great effect at the O2 when Taiwanese singer Jay Chou played there as part of his worldwide tour. Launched from the edge of the stage and flying out across the audience, it was a fantastic example of how spectacular the use of confetti and streamers can be when used in combination…and in quantity!

Slow and steady

Maybe you don’t want a big crescendo of confetti. There are times when a gentle cascade can be just as effective. And that’s where the Swirl Fan XL comes into its own. It can release a continuous flow of confetti for up to 5 metres. Swirl Fans are often mounted on a truss or beam in the roof so the confetti swirls around the stage or auditorium.

This is particularly good for Christmas events as, by using snow confetti, you can simulate snowfall and effectively transport the audience to a winter’s day in their mind’s eye.

Adding colour to your photos

Confetti can also brighten up a photo shoot or video. The smaller distances covered by the Swirl Fan or the Club Blower will enable you to confine the action to where it’s needed – in front of the camera. Whether you’re using it for team photos or product launches, confetti will give your photos extra pizzazz and help you stand out from the crowd.
