As you might imagine, an average day working at Entertainment Effects can involve a wide variety of tasks. From programming sequences, to firing a stadium show in front of 90,000 spectators, there is never a dull day for us. Today we join the team at our bespoke unit in Stevenage to delve a little deeper into show preparation and delivery.

At the start, we liaise with the client and design a display around their budget and requirements. In some circumstances we’ll undertake a site visit to determine which effects would be most effective, taking into consideration roof height and distance from the crowd. We then move onto the design phase:

Here’s George busy designing a display – this layout was for Showdown 5 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The next step involves picking, preparing and wiring in pyro, filling flames and preparing any other effects for the show.

Once we’ve finished designing the show, we then upload the program remotely onto control rails.

We then fire through the show without any products plugged in, to check the sequencing is correct

All of the equipment is then piled up, checked then loaded into van ready for departure.

On arrival the crew receive an in-depth briefing

Showtime!

We hope that’s provided an interesting insight into an average day at Entertainment Effects, we love what we do and we’re sure it comes across in the shows that we create!
